Pernak-pernik jakarta

I met Anwar Ibrahim last June in the Asian Media for Information and Communication (AMIC) Conference in Singapore. I asked a question during his speech in the main session of the conference. ( I was also a speaker in another session –smaller session– . I was very impressed with his response to my question on economy growth and democracy — freedom of expression. Basically his answer was like this economy is a matter of good governance, and democracy is to ensure freedom of expression, a basic right for people that is non negotiable. He answered my question of course much much much better than I wrote, and captivated the audience. At the end, audience gave him big applause for the answer. He is a charismatic speaker, and I feel he has better vision to lead his country, M’sia.

FYI, Anwar has a lot of colleagues in Jakarta and other cities in Indonesia as he once studied in Indonesia.
