Menurut Alia, ada satu keunikan tersendiri dari budaya betawi ini karena yang memainkan alat-alat musiknya bukan hanya orang betawi asli tapi malah kebanyakan bukan orang betawi.

Festival Kemang: Photos from Jeff Duricko

Yuk nonton festival kemang tahunan. Hari ini hari terakhir sampai jam 9 malam. Insya Allah aku akan upload foto2 ama video selesai mampir di festival itu sejenak.

I just got permission from Jeff Duricko to use his photos in Kemang as I was unable to drop by in the festival last weekend. I was too busy and too tired. So enjoy Duricko’s photos.

Festival Kemang is an annual festival in Kemang, South Jakarta. Souvenir, foods, clothes are sold in the area, where many expatriates lived in Jakarta.

Music show could also be seen during the two-day festival, which was held last weekend.

Beda Putri Indo 2006 Agni ama 2005 Nadine

Agni of Central Java, Putri Indonesia 2006

Her name is Agni Pratistha Arkadewi. She is only 18, but now she is Miss Indonesia 2006, replacing last year’s queen Nadine.

Agni, born in Canberra, looked so sweet and had a very nice smile when she was crowned the new queen on Friday night.

The way she answered question also reflected her confidence, probably much better than Nadine, although Artika (2004) remained the best.

Putri Indonesia yang baru, 25 Agustus

24-hour gas stations in Jakarta

In the past few months, several new gas stations have been built in Jakarta. They are quite special as they open 24 hours. I just notice that one gas station in Jl Gatot Subroto near to SCTV Building and another one in Jl. TB Simatupang near to Nestle Building operate 24 hours. I heard in Kalimalang, East Jakarta, there is also a new 24-hour gas station. The service in those gas stations is also ok as mini market, atm, car wash are available. 

This is a good news as Jakarta should have more 24-hour gas stations to support people who work at night. I think Jakarta is also a-24-hour city. It never sleeps. I take one gas station picture in TB Simatupang which operate 24 hours.
